Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Independ.O. (15-7) in Buenos Aires on Tuesday night. Visitors were defeated by eighth ranked Ferro (14-7) 88-82. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Independ.O.. It was a good game for Paraguayan center Leonel Bettiga (208) who led his team to a victory with 19 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Alejandro Diez (201-1987) contributed with 17 points and 5 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners. The former international guard Francisco Conrradi (191-2003) answered with 22 points for Independ.O.Independ.O.'s coach Martin Gonzalez rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Ferro moved-up to third place, which they share with Regatas. Independ.O. at the other side still keeps top position with seven games lost. Ferro will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Independ.O. will play at home against Union and is hoping to win this game.
Another interesting game for Regatas (14-7) which played on the court of 4th placed Obera (14-8). Eighth ranked Regatas crushed hosts 91-64. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Obera. Point guard Andres Jaime (184-2000) stepped up and scored 21 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and Juan Corbalan chipped in 22 points. The best for the losing side was American-Mexican forward Daviyon Draper (200-1994, college: FIU) with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Regatas have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Ferro. Obera at the other side dropped to the fifth position with eight games lost. Regatas' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Corrientes to the arena San Martin.
A very close game took place in Chivilcoy between Boca Juniors and Racing Ch.. Fourteenth ranked Boca Juniors (10-12) got a very close victory on the road over 18th ranked Racing Ch. (7-17). Boca Juniors managed to escape with a 2-point win 86-84 on Thursday evening. Lucas Faggiano nailed 17 points and 6 assists for the winning side. Boca Juniors' coach Gonzalo Perez used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Nicolas Romano came up with 20 points and 6 rebounds for Racing Ch. in the defeat. Defending champion moved-up to thirteenth place. Newly promoted Racing Ch. keeps the eighteenth position with 17 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

There were no big surprises in other games of round 33: Atenas was beaten by Ferro on the road 93-79. Quimsa won against Gimnasia on its own court 92-82. Gimnasia unfortunately lost to Olimpico in La Banda 94-97. Bottom-ranked Argentino lost to defending champion Boca Juniors at home 56-98.
The most impressive performance of 33th round was 16 points and 8 rebounds by Deion McClenton of Racing Ch..



Ferro - Atenas 93-79

No shocking result in a game when eighth ranked Ferro (14-7) beat 17th ranked Atenas (8-16) in Buenos Aires 93-79 on Saturday. Ferro looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Atenas' players. Swingman Felipe Rodriguez (195-2003) nailed 21 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winning side and the former international forward Facundo Pinero (202-1988) accounted for 17 points. Ferro's coach Federico Fernandez used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Power forward Juan Cruz Oberto (200-1997) came up with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Carlos Buendia (177-1995) added 19 points and 4 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) respectively for Atenas in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Ferro moved-up to third place, which they share with Regatas. Loser Atenas keeps the seventeenth position with 16 games lost.
