Riachuelo can celebrate finally their first win this season after 13 consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Bochas (4-11) 75-60 on Wednesday. Riachuelo forced 23 Bochas turnovers. Camila Borgogno fired a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. point guard Florencia Ortiz (160-2000) chipped in 21 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals. Renata Niveyro produced 20 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. Bochas' coach Carlos Saran rotated twelve players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Despite that victory Riachuelo went down to eighteenth position due to points difference. Bochas at the other side keeps the fifteenth place with 11 games lost. Riachuelo are looking forward to face higher ranked Instituto (#8) in Cordoba in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Bochas will play on the road against Gorriones (#12) in Rio Cuarto and is hoping to win this game.
Undefeated leader Chanares delivered the sixteenth consecutive victory. This time they beat 8th ranked Quimsa (8-8) 71-65 in Santiado del Estero. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Stefania Lucero (172-1993, agency: BIG) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. Regina Carosio contributed with 13 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Swingman Lorena Campos (171-1999) replied with 22 points and 7 rebounds for Quimsa. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Undefeated Chanares (16-0) have an impressive 16-game winning streak. They maintain first position with a perfect record of 16 victories in a row. Quimsa at the other side dropped to the ninth place with eight games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
