Argentinian LDD round 35 best performance: Franco Gimenez

Franco Gimenez (190) had a very impressive game in the last round for La Union Formosa, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 35.
The player was the main contributor (35 points, five rebounds) to his team's victory, helping them to beat Gimnasia (#12, 11-16) 74-65. La Union is placed at 3rd position in Argentinian LDD. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. La Union will need more victories to improve their 21-6 record. In the team's last game Gimenez had a remarkable 88.9% from 2-point range. He turned to be La Union's top player in his first season with the team. Franco Gimenez has solid league stats. He is in league's top in points (4th best: 19.0ppg) and averages impressive 2.4spg and 57.9% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was Argentinian Tomas Delia) of Racing de Chivilcoy. Delia had a very good evening with a double-double of 23 points and 10 rebounds. Of course he led Racing Ch. to another comfortable win 91-77 over slightly higher-ranked Independ.O. (#7, 15-10) being unquestionably team leader. Racing Ch.'s 8th position in the standings has not changed. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 13-13 record is not bad and everything may still change. Delia is a newcomer at Racing Ch., but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was guard Albano Costa (192-G-2006) of Obera Tennis Club (#10). Costa got into 30-points club by scoring 32 points in the last round. He went also for nine rebounds and four assists. He was a key player of Obera, leading his team to a 96-87 win against the lower-ranked San Martin (#15, 9-18). The chances of Obera ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 14 games, recording just eleven victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Costa could help Obera to bring them higher in the standings. Costa has a great season in Argentina. After 25 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 18.7ppg (6th best).
