Edwin Niebles claims Argentinian LDD weekly honour

Talented Colombian Edwin Niebles (178-PG-2005) had a great game in the last round for Obera Tennis Club and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 39.
The 20-year old playmaker had a double-double of 25 points and 12 rebounds, while his team outclassed Independ.O. (#7, 15-13) with 33-point margin 101-68. Obera is placed at 9th position in Argentinian LDD. Obera is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 14-15 record. Niebles has many years of experience at Obera, through which he has constantly improved. Niebles has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in rebounds (2nd best: 10.5rpg) and averages solid 61.8% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was Benjamin Imaz of Atenas Cordoba. Imaz impressed basketball fans with 23 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists. Of course he led Atenas to another comfortable win 78-60 over the lower-ranked Boca Jrs. (#18, 7-19) being unquestionably team leader. The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Atenas keeps 15th position. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 10-19 record. Imaz is well-known by Atenas fans and he already established his position as one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was another Atenas' star - Tiago Tomatis. Tomatis got into 30-points club by scoring 32 points in the last round. He went also for seven rebounds . He was another key player of Atenas Cordoba, helping his team with a 84-81 win against the higher-ranked Obras (#4, 22-4). The chances of Atenas not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 19 games, recording just ten victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Tomatis could try to bring Atenas' a little bit higher in the standings. Tomatis has individually a great season in Argentina. After 21 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 23.5ppg (best scorer).
