International Point guard Franco Balbi (189-PG-1989) had an amazing evening in the last round for Union de Santa Fe, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 46.
The 36-year old player tried to help (35 points, six rebounds and three assists) his team in a lost game to Penarol (#11, 18-15) 83-85. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on top of the standings. Union maintains the 17th position in Argentinian La Liga. Union is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. But it was their 22th lost game this season out of 34 games. In the team's last game Balbi had a remarkable four three-pointers out of 9 attempts. He turned to be Union's top player in his first season with the team. Franco Balbi has solid league stats. He is in league's top in assists (3rd best: 4.7apg).

The second best player in last round's games was young Mariano Marina (PG-1999) of La Union Formosa. Marina had a very good evening with 24 points and 4 rebounds. Bad luck as La Union lost that game 78-87 to the lower-ranked Olimpico (#13, 15-19). La Union managed to keep the same 8th spot in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 19-16 record is not bad and everything may still change. Marina is a newcomer at La Union and despite he is not a team leader yet, every game he becomes more reliable player. Hopefully performances like the last one will happen more often.

Third on the list of top players last round was guard Nicolas Copello (193-G-1992) of Instituto Atletico Central Cordoba (#5). Copello scored 20 points and passed 6 assists. He was a key player of Instituto, leading his team to a 83-70 easy win against the lower-ranked Platense (#15, 13-20). Instituto needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 20 victories and 14 lost games. Copello has a very solid season. In 34 games in Argentina he scored 11.9ppg.
