Niebles' double-double lands him Player of the Week award

20-year old Colombian point guard Edwin Niebles (178-PG-2005) had a great game in the last round for Obera Tennis Club and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 44.
He had a double-double of 23 points and 20 rebounds, while his team crushed Ferro (#6, 21-12) with 22-point margin 88-66. Obera is placed at 7th position in Argentinian league. Obera is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 17-15 record. In the team's last game Niebles had a remarkable 77.8% from 2-point range. He has many years of experience at Obera, through which he has constantly improved. Niebles has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in rebounds (2nd best: 10.6rpg) and averages solid 62.5% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Jesus Centeno (205-F/C-2006) of Gimnasia y Esgrima Comodoro Rivadavia. He is Venezuelan forward in his first season at Gimnasia. In the last game Centeno recorded an impressive double-double of 28 points and 16 rebounds. Of course he led Gimnasia to another comfortable win outscoring slightly lower-ranked Union (#14, 12-21) 85-65. The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Gimnasia keeps 12th position. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 14-19 record. Centeno is a newcomer at Gimnasia and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to another Obera's star - guard Albano Costa (192-G-2006). Costa showcased his all-around game by recording 20 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists in the last round. He was another key player of Obera Tennis Club, helping his team with a 88-66 easy win against slightly higher-ranked Ferro (#6, 21-12). Obera needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 17 victories and 15 lost games. Costa has a great season in Argentina. After 32 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 20.2ppg (3rd best).
