International Agustin Barreiro (205-SF-1999) had a great game in the last round for Boca Juniors Buenos Aires, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 49.
The 26-year old player was the main contributor (23 points, five rebounds) to his team's victory, helping them to beat Independ.O. (#8, 20-15) 92-86. Boca Juniors maintains the 10th position in Argentinian La Liga. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Boca Juniors will need more victories to improve their 19-15 record. It was one of impressive evenings for Barreiro as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Agustin Barreiro averages this season 9.5ppg and 5.9rpg.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Derrick Woods (203-F-1996, agency: SLN) of Club Atletico Platense Florida. Woods had a very good evening with a double-double of 26 points and 11 rebounds. Bad luck as Platense lost that game 87-95 to the higher-ranked Regatas (#5, 21-13). Platense is still in a red zone at 15th spot in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 13-21 record. Woods is a newcomer at Platense, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 15.9ppg (#2). He also registered 6.9 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was guard Martin Cabrera (179-PG-1996) of Union de Santa Fe (#17). Cabrera scored 17 points and passed 10 assists (!!!). Despite Cabrera's great performance the Union lost 74-81 to the higher-ranked Ferro (#6, 21-15). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Union not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 23 games, recording just twelve victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Cabrera could try to bring Union SF's a little bit higher in the standings. Cabrera has a very solid season. In 35 games in Argentina he scored 9.6ppg.
