Francisco Caffaro claims Argentinian La Liga weekly honour

International Center Francisco Caffaro (216-C-2000) had a very impressive game in the last round for Boca Juniors Buenos Aires and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 50.
The 25-year old center had the game-high 18 points adding nine rebounds and two assists for Boca Juniors in his team's victory, helping them to beat Obras (#5, 23-15) 87-75. Boca Juniors is placed at 8th position in Argentinian La Liga. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Boca Juniors will need more victories to improve their 20-15 record. Caffaro turned to be Boca Juniors' top player in his first season with the team. Santa Clara University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Caffaro is in league's top in rebounds (2nd best: 8.6rpg) and averages solid 61.7% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American forward Will Vorhees (203-F-1995) of Obera Tennis Club. Vorhees impressed basketball fans with 23 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists. Bad luck as Obera was edged by the lower-ranked Atenas (#18, 13-23) 82-78. This loss caused Obera to drop to 4th position in the standings. His team's 23-13 record is not bad at all. Vorhees is a newcomer at Obera and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 15.8ppg (#4). He also registered 6.1 boards per game. Notre Dame College alumni Vorhees played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas.

The third best performed player last round was another Obera's star - American Daviyon Draper (200-F-1994). Draper scored 20 points and grabbed 12 rebounds (!!!). Despite Draper's great performance the Obera Tennis Club lost 78-82 to the lower-ranked Atenas (#18, 13-23). But his team cannot count on just these two top stars as they also need help of the other teammates. The last thing Obera needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 23 victories and 13 lost games. Draper has a great season in Argentina. After 28 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 15.8ppg (3rd best).
