Honduras tastes the initial win in San Salvador at the U17 Centrobasket. They edged Bahamas 63:47 at the Classification Round.
Honduras managed to win the first period 10-9 and erupted with a 22-6 surge in the second frame. Moreover they won the third period 14-9 and increased three lead to 22 points at the end of the third quarter. Bahamas replied with a 23-17 rally in the last stanza to make the final result in the game. Nelly Rapalo (99) made a free throw for the final margin.
Danna Grenald (99) paced all the winners with 23 points and 15 rebounds, while Nelly Rapalo had 22. Jinan Abdalah (98) poured in 9 and Laura Vigil (97) notched 4. Valerie Nesbitt top-scored for Bahamas with 24 points and Sha-Londa Neely erupted with 13 points and 27 rebounds. Kyle Higgs notched 4, whilst Serena Brown added 3.
