BIBT Great W. - Regulators 79-80 Sixth-ranked BIBT Great W. (1-14) gave a tough game to fourth ranked Regulators (6-8) in Nassau on Saturday. The visitors managed to secure only one-point victory 80-79. However their fans expected easier game. Regulators forced 26 BIBT Great W. turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. 28 personal fouls committed by BIBT Great W. helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Alexander Rolle (-93) had a double-double by scoring 13 points, 15 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals to lead the charge for the winners and American point guard Derek Thompson-Jr (175-97) chipped in 16 points and 13 rebounds during the contest. Regulators' coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was Trevez Hamilton with 26 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and Stevon Thompson scored 26 points. Regulators maintains fourth position with 6-8 record. BIBT Great W. lost fourteenth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the sixth place with 14 games lost. Sixth ranked BIBT Great W. (1-14) saved a 1-point derby victory on the road edging 5th ranked Abaco Strong (3-10) 92-91 on Wednesday evening. BIBT Great W. outrebounded Abaco Strong 62-42 including a 43-31 advantage in defensive rebounds. Abaco Strong was plagued by 37 personal fouls down the stretch. Trevez Hamilton notched a double-double by scoring 31 points and 12 rebounds to lead the effort and Marc Taylor supported him with 12 points, 19 rebounds and 8 assists. Four BIBT Great W. players scored in double figures. Even 24 points, 9 rebounds, 8 assists and 8 steals by Tevin Hudson did not help to save the game for Abaco Strong. Malik Penn added 34 points (!!!). Newly promoted BIBT Great W. maintains sixth position with 1-14 record. It was Abaco Strong's eighth loss in a row. Abaco Strong at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fifth place with ten games lost. They share the position with Rebels. (#2). Bahamas Univ. was defeated at home 75-79 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Shockers forced 24 Bahamas Univ. turnovers. The best player for the winners was William Rigby who scored 23 points and 6 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Center Shamir Rolle (198, college: Freed-Hardeman) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 14 rebounds. Four Shockers players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Kemsy Sylvestre who recorded a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds and Rashad Sturrup added 10 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Shockers maintains third position with 10-5 record having just one point less than leader Rockets. Loser Bahamas Univ. keeps the second place with four games lost.
