NPBA Round 16 (Regular Season): Sand Dollar keep a leadership position

There are only two more rounds left in the Regular Season in NPBA. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Sand Dollar as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Sand Dollar smashed 5th ranked Shockers in Nassau 97-74. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Shockers. Sand Dollar dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Shockers' 16. Sand Dollar looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. Guard Van Hutchinson (193) fired a triple-double by scoring 13 points, 17 rebounds and 17 assists for the winners. Dave Davis chipped in 18 points and 11 rebounds. Dario Mckenzie produced 18 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists for lost side. Sand Dollar (12-1) have an impressive seven-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Shockers at the other side keep the fifth place with eight games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Nassau: Sand Dollar (#2) and Regulators (#3). Regulators were smashed at home by 31 points 47-78 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Van Hutchinson (193) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points, 19 rebounds and 5 assists. Jeremy Neely contributed with 22 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals for the winners. American Dominique Fernander (, college: Hobart) replied with 6 points and 9 rebounds for Regulators. Regulators' coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Sand Dollar (12-1) have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader. Regulators lost third consecutive game. They keep the third place with seven games lost. They share the position with Tucker Boys. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

Worth to mention a great performance of Dashaun Saunders who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 7 rebounds. At the losing side Bertrum Minns responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 14 rebounds. TMT Giants moved-up to second place. Loser Zulu MM keeps the fourth position with eight games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

In the last two games of round 16 Giants crushed Regulators in Nassau 99-78. Tucker Boys beat Sunlight CS at home 74-69.



Regulators - Sand Dollar 47-78

Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Nassau: Sand Dollar (#2) and Regulators (#3). Regulators were smashed at home by 31 points 47-78 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Sand Dollar dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Regulators' 24. They outrebounded Regulators 47-35 including 22 on the offensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Van Hutchinson (193) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points, 19 rebounds and 5 assists. Jeremy Neely contributed with 22 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Four Sand Dollar players scored in double figures. Another interesting game was again a derby between two local teams from Nassau: TMT Giants (#3) and Zulu MM (#4). TMT Giants (6-5) won against visiting Zulu MM (4-8) 81-76. TMT Giants forced 25 Zulu MM turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of Dashaun Saunders who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 7 rebounds and Daniel Hall who added 18 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four TMT Giants players scored in double figures. At the losing side Bertrum Minns responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 14 rebounds and forward Jonaldo Joseph (198, college: RWU) scored 22 points and 6 rebounds. TMT Giants moved-up to second place. Loser Zulu MM keeps the fourth position with eight games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

Regulators - Giants 78-99

The game between closely ranked teams ended with one of their biggest challengers Regulators' (5-7) home loss to top-ranked Giants (11-0) 78-99 on Friday. Giants outrebounded Regulators 62-42 including a 45-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. Giants looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international guard Jackson Jacob (186, college: NAIT) who helped to win the game recording 25 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international point guard Jeffrey Henfield (193-1985, college: Tarleton St.) who added 13 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Giants' coach felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Cleo Sears responded with 15 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and Alexander Rolle (-1993) scored 13 points and 9 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Giants have an impressive 11-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 11-0 record having just one point less than leader Sand Dollar. Regulators lost third consecutive game. They keep the third place with seven games lost. They share the position with Tucker Boys. Giants' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Nassau Rockets.

Tucker Boys - Sunlight CS 74-69

No shocking result in a game in Nassau where fourth ranked Tucker Boys (5-7) defeated 6th ranked Sunlight CS (2-8) 74-69 on Saturday. Worth to mention a great performance of Leon Bain who helped to win the game recording 28 points and 7 rebounds and Kieran Mortimer who added 16 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Camron Strachan responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 27 rebounds and Michael Turnquest scored 17 points and 7 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Tucker Boys moved-up to third place, which they share with Regulators. Sunlight CS lost sixth consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth position with eight games lost. They share it with Island DR. Tucker Boys will meet Island DR (#5) in the next round. Sunlight CS will have a break next round.
