NPBA Round 20 (Regular Season): Derby game ends with Rockets' defeat of Bahamas Univ.

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Nassau: Rockets (#1) and Bahamas Univ. (#2). Bahamas Univ. was smashed at home by 27 points 69-96 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Rockets made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Bahamas Univ. turnovers. Rockets looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Bahamas Univ.'s players. Georgio Walkes orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points and 6 assists. point guard Lerecus Armbrister contributed with 17 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Delano Armbrister replied with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists for Bahamas Univ.Rockets (14-1) have an impressive 14-game winning streak. They maintain first position. Tucker Boys were smashed at home by 45 points 54-99 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international guard Jackson Jacob (186, college: NAIT) who helped to win the game recording 28 points and 4 assists and Dylan Musgrove who added 20 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals during the contest. Clayton Tucker responded with 20 points. Tucker Boys' coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Undefeated Giants (15-0) have an impressive 15-game winning streak. They maintain first position with a perfect record of 15 victories in a row. Tucker Boys at the other side keep the third place with nine games lost.

Shockers were defeated at home 62-71 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. The winners were led by Lorenzo Rolle who had that evening a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds. Even a double-double of 17 points and 12 rebounds by William Rigby did not help to save the game for Shockers. Shockers' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Tucker Boys maintains third position with 8-9 record having five points less than leader Rockets. Loser Shockers keep the sixth place with ten games lost.

There were no big surprises in other games of round 20: Sunlight CS beat Regulators on the road 93-79. Rockets destroyed Sunlight CS on its own court 84-53. Sunlight CS outscored Island DR in a road game 89-55.
The most impressive performance of 20th round was 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists by Michael Turnquest of Sunlight CS.



Bahamas Univ. - Rockets 69-96

Regulators - Sunlight CS 79-93

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when fifth ranked Sunlight CS (6-9) beat one of their biggest challengers Regulators (5-9) in Nassau 93-79 on Monday. Sunlight CS looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The winners were led by Camron Strachan who had that evening a double-double by scoring 15 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists and Johnley Noel supported him with 25 points and 4 assists. Five Sunlight CS players scored in double figures. Even 22 points and 6 assists by Canadian guard Zachary Pennerman (, college: Mount Allison) did not help to save the game for Regulators. Alexander Rolle (-1993) added 14 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals for the hosts. Sunlight CS moved-up to fourth place which they share with defeated Regulators. The winners were led by the former international guard Abel Joseph (200-1990, college: Holland) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists and Georgio Walkes supported him with 13 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Rockets players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 17 points and 11 rebounds by Camron Strachan did not help to save the game for Sunlight CS. Sunlight CS dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Island DR's 22. They outrebounded Island DR 58-41 including a 23-12 advantage in offensive rebounds. The winners were led by Michael Turnquest who scored that evening 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and Kendrick Humes supported him with 11 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Sunlight CS players scored in double figures. Sunlight CS's coach felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 19 points and 6 rebounds by Martin Conliff did not help to save the game for Island DR. Dewhone Murray added 12 points and 5 rebounds for the hosts. Sunlight CS moved-up to fourth place. Island DR lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with 11 games lost.
