Kai Jones may join Virtus Bologna

Kai Jones

Virtus Segafredo Bologna (Serie A) is close to signing 24-year-old Bahamas international 211cm power forward Kai Jones (college: Texas) for the 2025-26 season. He last played for Dallas Mavericks in the NBA, where he recorded 11.4ppg, 6.6rpg, and 1.3apg in 12 games last season. He also played for Clippers/39">the Clippers in the NBA and briefly for the Clippers in the NBA G League.
In 2021, he was drafted by the New York Knicks (NBA) in the first round (19th overall). He attended the University of Texas, and it may be his fifth season in pro basketball.
Jones has been a member of the Bahamas international program for some years. He has been regularly called to the Bahamas senior team since 2022 and previously for the Under 16 National Team back in 2017.
Jones is a very experienced player. He has played professionally in other USA teams, Spain (Alicante), NBA (Charlotte Hornets), NBA G League (Delaware Blue Coats and Greensboro Swarm), and NBA Summer League (Charlotte Hornets).
Among many awards, his college team won the Big 12 Tournament in 2021. Jones was also voted to the All-Big 12 Sixth Man of the Year in 2021.
