GBBA Round 9 (Regular Season): No surprise as #1 Dudley BS defeat 242 Elite

GBBA top team - Dudley BS (9-0) had no problems winning another game on Wednesday. This time they crushed tenth ranked 242 Elite (1-8) 86-67. Dudley BS dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to 242 Elite's 40. Dudley BS forced 28 242 Elite turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by 242 Elite's players. McKell Bethel (190-2000) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and Trevor Bain chipped in 22 points and 8 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Jackson Walker with 38 points (!!!). Undefeated Dudley BS have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They maintain first place with 9-0 record. 242 Elite lost seventh consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with eight games lost.
Third ranked New Era GR (6-2) crushed at home 8th ranked Lil Boat (1-7) by 55 points 107-52, which is the biggest margin this round. Forward Regis Cooper nailed a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side and Clarence Thompson accounted for 20 points and 14 rebounds. Javanno Martin came up with 35 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds for Lil Boat in the defeat. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for New Era GR. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Pizza Hut L. Lil Boat lost their fourth game in a row. Newly promoted team dropped to the ninth position with seven games lost.

In the last two games of round 9 Celebration KS lost to Connect SJ on the opponent's court 67-78. Pizza Hut L. managed to outperform 242 Elite in a home game 75-66.



Connect SJ - Celebration KS 78-67

Rather expected game when 7th ranked Celebration KS (3-6) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Connect SJ (5-3) 78-67. Strangely Celebration KS outrebounded Connect SJ 56-40 including a 21-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Connect SJ players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. The former international guard Dajhon Wildgoose (182-1991) nailed 30 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists for the winning side and Raymond Higgs (-1991) accounted for 25 points and 14 rebounds. point guard Trenaz Rigby came up with 12 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists and point guard Javez Marting added 20 points respectively for Celebration KS in the defeat. Celebration KS's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Connect SJ moved-up to fourth place. Celebration KS lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the seventh position with six games lost.

Very predictable result when third ranked Pizza Hut L. (6-2) defeated at home bottom-ranked 242 Elite (1-8) 75-66. Pizza Hut L. forced 30 242 Elite turnovers. 242 Elite was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Center Tarez Hepburn (191) nailed a double-double by scoring 20 points and 21 rebounds for the winning side and Jamaal Walker (183-1994, college: FNU) accounted for 19 points and 9 rebounds. Four Pizza Hut L. players scored in double figures. Nolan Munnings came up with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and Lathorne Austin added 14 points and 10 rebounds respectively for 242 Elite in the defeat. The victory was the third consecutive win for Pizza Hut L.. They moved-up to second place, which they share with New Era GR. 242 Elite lost their seventh game in a row.
