BABA Round 9 (Regular Season): Derby game ends with Cavaliers' defeat of Tridents

Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Bridgetown: Cavaliers (#1) and Tridents (#7). Cavaliers (9-0) crushed visiting Tridents (1-9) by 40 points 101-61. Cavaliers dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Tridents' 36. Cavaliers forced 20 Tridents turnovers and outrebounded them 71-41 including a 28-11 advantage in offensive rebounds. Cavaliers looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was a good game for the former international guard Deveron Knight (195-2000) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!) and 15 rebounds. Guard Gavin Phillips contributed with 20 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals for the winners. Isaac Griffith answered with 10 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for Tridents. Tridents' coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Undefeated Cavaliers have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They maintain first place with 9-0 record. Tridents at the other side keep the seventh position with nine games lost. They share it with Warrens. Cavaliers' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Bridgetown to the arena Bears.
Another exciting game was again a derby between two teams from Bridgetown: Bulls (#3) and Bears (#6). Bulls (7-2) crushed visiting Bears (3-7) by 20 points 108-88. The former international forward Rasheed Maynard (185-2000) stepped up and scored 28 points and 4 steals for the winners and Manuel Alleng chipped in 10 points and 13 rebounds. Bulls' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was the former international Mark Bridgeman (198-1990) with 26 points and 8 rebounds. The victory was the third consecutive win for Bulls. Defending champion maintains third place with 7-2 record having just two points less than leader Cavaliers. Newly promoted Bears keep the sixth position with seven games lost. Bulls' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Bridgetown to the arena Celtics.

Joel Hunte nailed 28 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side. Keefe Birkett came up with 21 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for Lakers in the defeat. Celtics maintains second place with 8-1 record behind leader Cavaliers. Loser Lakers keep the fifth position with six games lost. Celtics' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Bridgetown Bulls.

In the last game of round 9 Pinelands beat Warrens on the road 92-74.
The most impressive performance of 9th round was 21 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists by Theo Greenidge of Celtics.

No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Pinelands (5-4) beat on the road bottom-ranked Warrens (1-9) 92-74 on Friday. Pinelands dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Warrens' 48. Pinelands forced 26 Warrens turnovers and outrebounded them 59-45 including a 26-13 advantage in offensive rebounds. Pinelands looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The former international Carl Thorpe (201-2001, college: York, NE) nailed a triple-double by scoring 30 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists for the winning side and guard Rachad Hall (183) accounted for 6 points, 12 rebounds, 6 assists and 8 steals.
