Undefeated leader Concepcion recorded the seventeenth consecutive victory on Sunday night. This time they crushed 12th ranked Espanol T. (4-9) 131-59. Concepcion dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Espanol T.'s 26. Concepcion forced 36 Espanol T. turnovers and outrebounded them 41-25 including a 21-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 38 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Espanol T.'s players. The former international Evandro Arteaga (178-1983) scored 26 points to lead the charge for the winners and international point guard Diego Silva (186) chipped in 21 points and 5 assists (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) during the contest. Five Concepcion players scored in double figures. Concepcion's coach Cipriano Nunez felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was forward Simon Davies (-2003) with 15 points and forward Ignacio Caceres (-2002) scored 11 points and 7 rebounds. Concepcion (17-0) have an impressive 17-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with a perfect record of 17 victories in a row. Espanol T. lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the thirteenth place with nine games lost. Concepcion will again meet Espanol T. (#13) in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Espanol T. will play against Puerto Montt and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
