An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Bauru. Second ranked Minas faced 4th placed Paschoalotto/Bauru. Guests from Belo Horizonte (13-1) defeated host Paschoalotto/Bauru (10-4) 85-75. They outrebounded Paschoalotto/Bauru 40-26 including a 33-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Minas especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. It was a good game for American guard Shaquille Johnson (194-90, college: Marshall) who led his team to a victory with 28 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Bahamas David Nesbitt (203-91, college: St.Thomas, FL) contributed with 22 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Minas' coach Leonardo Costa allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American power forward Tyrone Curnell (203-88, college: Valdosta St.) answered with 17 points and 7 rebounds and American-Filipino Zach Graham (198-89, college: Ole Miss, agency: Pro Sports) added 18 points in the effort for Paschoalotto/Bauru. The victory was the thirteenth consecutive win for Minas. They keep a position of league leader. Paschoalotto/Bauru at the other side keeps the fourth place with four games lost. They share the position with Paulistano. Minas will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Paschoalotto/Bauru will play on the road against Pinheiros (#13) in Sao Paulo and hopes to get back on the winning track.
