Important game to mention about took place in Rio Gallegos. Eighth ranked H.Americano (7-11) saved a 3-point derby victory at home edging 6th ranked CA Platense (6-9) 75-72 on Friday evening. Strangely CA Platense outrebounded H.Americano 46-32 including 34 on the defensive glass. CA Platense was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. American guard Kelsey Barlow (196-91, college: UIC) stepped up and scored 22 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and Bruno Sansimoni (194-96) chipped in 11 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Four H.Americano players scored in double figures. Point guard Facundo Vazquez (185-98) responded with 12 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists and center Julian Aprea (210-87) scored 14 points and 7 rebounds. H.Americano moved-up to sixth place. CA Platense at the other side dropped to the eighth position with nine games lost. H.Americano will play against Bahia (#10) in Bahia Blanca in the next round. CA Platense will play at home against San Lorenzo and hopes to get back on the winning track.
