Regular Season Round 9: Minas - Paulistano 70-63

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Minas as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Minas defeated 5th ranked Paulistano in Belo Horizonte 70-63. The best player for the winners was Bahamas David Nesbitt (203-91, college: St.Thomas, FL) who scored 14 points and 8 rebounds. The former international center Joao Paulo Batista (206-81, college: Gonzaga) chipped in 14 points and 5 rebounds. Four Minas players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Vitao Camilo (203-97) who recorded 17 points and 5 rebounds and center Maique Tavares (210-93) added 12 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Minas (13-1) have an impressive series of thirteen victories in a row. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Paulistano at the other side dropped to the fourth place with four games lost. They share the position with Bauru. Paulistano will play next round against UniFacisa trying to get back on the winning streak. Minas will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
