Regular Season Round 30: Ferro - Obras 69-92
Date: January 11, 2021
La Liga top team - Obras (14-4) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed ninth ranked Ferro (6-12) in Buenos Aires 92-69. Obras players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. International point guard Fernando Zurbriggen (185-97, agency: Duran International) notched 15 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals to lead the effort and Uruguayan forward Joaquin Rodriguez (198-99, agency: Pro Sports) supported him with 16 points and 7 assists. Four Obras players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 10 points and 11 rebounds by swingman Valentin Bettiga (189-99) did not help to save the game for Ferro. Guard Sebastian Mignani (185-90) added 15 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Obras have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 14-4 record, which they share with San Martin. Ferro lost sixth consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth place with 12 games lost. They share the position with Libertad and Comunicaciones. Obras will play against La Union (#10) in Formosa in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Ferro will play on the road against Gimnasia (#4) in Comodoro Rivadavia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
