Regular Season Round 34: La Union - Atenas 89-74

We should mention about the upset which took place in Formosa, where higher ranked Atenas (7-14) lost to tenth ranked La Union (6-12) in a road game 74-89. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Atenas. La Union dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Atenas' 34. They outrebounded Atenas 41-27 including 31 on the defensive glass. La Union players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Point guard Alejandro Konsztadt (191-89) notched 15 points and 4 assists to lead the effort and Eduardo Gamboa (189-84) supported him with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Even 11 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists by point guard Pablo Bruna (185-87) did not help to save the game for Atenas. American-Nigerian power forward Josh Nzeakor (203-97, college: Lamar) added 13 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Atenas' coach Osvaldo Arduh tested twelve players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. La Union moved-up to eighth place. Atenas at the other side dropped to the seventh position with 14 games lost.
