Boca Juniors managed to secure a 6-point victory 80-74 on Tuesday. Boca Juniors outrebounded Penarol 41-30 including a 36-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. Bahamas forward Tavario Miller (203-94, college: Texas A&M) stepped up and scored 17 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and the former international swingman Adrian Boccia (195-82) chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds. Miller is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side power forward Franco Pennacchiotti (205-90) responded with 15 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Joaquin Valinotti (185-98) scored 16 points and 7 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Boca Juniors moved-up to second place, which they share with San Lorenzo. Loser Penarol dropped to the sixth position with 12 games lost. They share it with La Union. Boca Juniors will meet Argentino (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Penarol will play against Ferro in Buenos Aires and hope to secure a win.
