The game between closely ranked teams ended with eighth ranked Penarol's (8-12) road victory over 9th ranked Ferro (7-15) in Buenos Aires 98-90 on Wednesday. Penarol made 26-of-32 free shots (81.3 percent) during the game. Power forward Franco Pennacchiotti (205-90) notched a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds to lead the effort and American forward Tony Mitchell (203-92, college: N.Texas) supported him with 25 points and 8 rebounds. Even 14 points and 9 rebounds by swingman Valentin Bettiga (189-99) did not help to save the game for Ferro. Uruguayan center Theo Metzger (200-99) added 15 points for the hosts. Four Penarol and five Ferro players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Penarol moved-up to seventh place. Loser Ferro dropped to the eighth position with 15 games lost. They share it with Atenas. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
