The game in Formosa supposed to be also quite interesting. Fourth ranked Regatas Corrientes (16-8) played at the court of 6th ranked La Union (7-14). Regatas Corrientes smashed La Union 99-72 on Friday. Regatas Corrientes dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to La Union's 34 and made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. They outrebounded La Union 41-25 including a 16-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. La Union was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The former international point guard Marco Giordano (183-0) fired 23 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Juan Pablo Corbalan (185-98) chipped in 11 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Five Regatas Corrientes players scored in double figures. Facundo Giorgi (203-85, college: FIU) produced 22 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and naturalized Italian swingman Federico Marin (199-82) added 16 points respectively for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Regatas Corrientes have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 16-8 record. Loser La Union dropped to the seventh place with 14 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
