Very important is a home loss of second ranked San Martin Corrientes (18-8) against sixth ranked La Union (10-17) on Saturday night. Host San Martin Corrientes was defeated by La Union in a tough game at home 67-76. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of San Martin Corrientes. It was an exceptional evening for Eduardo Gamboa (189-84) who led the winners and scored 15 points and 8 rebounds. Power forward Cristian Amicucci (200-85) accounted for 14 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Four La Union players scored in double figures. Matias Solanas (192-98) came up with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Jonatan Machuca (184-89) added 14 points and 4 assists respectively for San Martin Corrientes in the defeat. La Union maintains sixth place with 10-17 record. San Martin Corrientes at the other side keeps the second position with eight games lost. La Union will play against higher ranked Gimnasia (#4) in Comodoro Rivadavia in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. San Martin Corrientes will play on the road against Penarol in Mar del Plata and hopes to get back on the winning track.
