Important game to mention about took place in Brasilia. Fourteenth ranked Cerrado (5-13) saved a 1-point victory at home edging 11th ranked Pato Basquete (7-11) 77-76 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Pato Basquete. Pato Basquete was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Naturalized American guard Kevin Crescenzi (193-93, college: Dartmouth) stepped up and scored 18 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and Canadian-American swingman Nicholas Wiggins (198-91, college: Z*Orangeville A's, agency: BIG) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds. At the losing side American guard Isaac Thornton (193-91, college: Fairmont St.) responded with 26 points and point guard Matheusinho Brito (184-0) scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Newly promoted Cerrado maintains fourteenth place with 5-13 record. Pato Basquete at the other side keeps the eleventh position with 11 games lost. Cerrado will play against higher ranked Fortaleza (#9) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Pato Basquete will have a break next round.
