Regular Season Round 48: La Union - Bahia 86-80

Everything went according to plan in Formosa where sixth ranked La Union (12-19) beat 10th ranked Bahia (4-26) 86-80 on Sunday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. La Union looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Bahia's players. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Cristian Amicucci (200-85) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 9 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and Facundo Giorgi (203-85, college: FIU) who added 15 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Four La Union players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Brazilian point guard Caio Pacheco (189-99, agency: Octagon Europe) with 26 points and the former international Fausto Ruesga (199-0) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Despite that victory La Union went down to seventh position due to points difference. Loser Bahia keeps the tenth place with 26 games lost. La Union will face Obera (#10) on the road in the next round.
