An interesting game for Flamengo (20-2) which played road game in Sao Paulo against 4th placed Paulistano (13-8). First ranked Flamengo managed to get a 14-point victory 84-70. Flamengo players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. The former international center Rafael Hettsheimeir (210-86) stepped up and scored 15 points for the winners and the former international forward Olivinha Rodriguez (202-83) chipped in 12 points and 5 rebounds. American-Argentinian guard Erik Thomas (195-95, college: New Orleans) responded with 12 points and 7 rebounds and the former international Jimmy Oliveira (190-90) scored 16 points. Four Paulistano players scored in double figures. Paulistano's coach Regis Marrelli rotated eleven players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Flamengo have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place with 20-2 record. Paulistano lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with eight games lost. They share it with Bauru. Flamengo will play against Sao Paulo (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Paulistano will play against Campo Mourao and hopes to get back on the winning track.
