The game between closely ranked teams ended with seventh ranked La Union's (13-20) home victory over 8th ranked Penarol (11-19) 89-75 on Monday. It was a great evening for naturalized Italian swingman Federico Marin (199-82) who led his team to a victory scoring 26 points and 8 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Facundo Giorgi (203-85, college: FIU) helped adding 18 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was the former international forward Matias Sandes (202-84) with 11 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and power forward Franco Pennacchiotti (205-90) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. Five Penarol players scored in double figures. Penarol's coach Carlos Romano rotated twelve players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. La Union maintains seventh place with 13-20 record. Penarol lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with 19 games lost.
