There was a surprise result in Resistencia where twelfth ranked Salta Basket (2-3) beat higher ranked Villa S.Martin (3-3) 88-79 on Thursday. Point guard Nicolas Zurschmitten (183-95) stepped up and scored 18 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and Federico Pedano (194-0) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds. Four Salta Basket players scored in double figures. Salta Basket's coach Jose Luis Pisani used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was point guard Favio Vieta (188-96) with 18 points and 5 rebounds and forward Sebastian Picton (197-92) scored 18 points. Salta Basket moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Lanus and Rocamora. Loser Villa S.Martin dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. Salta Basket will face Independiente (#15) in Santiago del Estero in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game.
