Regular Season Round 53: San Lorenzo - La Union 90-87

Sixth-ranked La Union (14-21) was very close to win a game against first ranked San Lorenzo (24-9) in Almagra. San Lorenzo managed to secure only three-point victory 90-87. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of La Union. San Lorenzo players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. La Union was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. International center Roberto Acuna (208-90) stepped up and scored 16 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and Jose Defelippo (186-97) chipped in 19 points. San Lorenzo's coach Silvio Santander allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Naturalized Italian swingman Federico Marin (199-82) responded with 27 points and 9 rebounds and Facundo Giorgi (203-85, college: FIU) scored 24 points and 9 rebounds. Four La Union players scored in double figures. San Lorenzo maintains first place with 24-9 record. La Union at the other side dropped to the seventh position with 21 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
