Regular Season Round 57: Regatas - San Martin 71-85

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Corrientes: San Martin Corrientes (#7) and Regatas Corrientes (#3). Regatas Corrientes was defeated at home 71-85 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. San Martin Corrientes shot the lights out from three sinking 17 long-distance shots on high 51.5 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Point guard Gaston Garcia (187-98) stepped up and scored 15 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners and power forward Sebastian Acevedo (200-90) chipped in 20 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Four San Martin Corrientes players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was forward Patricio Tabarez (195-91) with 17 points and the former international power forward Tayavek Gallizzi (206-93) scored 15 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. San Martin Corrientes (23-14) moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Obras. Regatas Corrientes at the other side keeps the third position with 12 games lost.
