Regular Season Round 6: Bigua - Urunday 75-81

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Montevideo: Urunday (#5) and Bigua (#4). Bigua was defeated at home 75-81 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Bigua. Urunday dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Bigua's 26. They outrebounded Bigua 50-33 including 18 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was American guard Marcus Elliott (196-84, college: Louisiana Tech) who scored 22 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. The other American import forward Tyrone Lee (206-90, college: GVSU) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points and 17 rebounds. Five Urunday players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Donald Sims (190-87, college: App State, agency: Pensack Sports) who recorded 21 points and 7 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and forward Martin Rojas (194-98) added 14 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Urunday (4-2) moved-up to third place, which they share with Malvin. Bigua at the other side dropped to the fifth position with two games lost. They share it with Aguada and Capitol.
