Regular Season Round 7: Hebraica - Capitol 83-89

Another exciting game was again a derby match of two local teams from Montevideo: Capitol (#7) and Hebraica (#9). Hebraica was defeated at home 83-89 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Capitol made 25-of-33 free shots (75.8 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Hebraica was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for American center Paul Harrison (204-89, college: NGU) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Davaunta Thomas (196-95, college: UAFS) contributed with 25 points and 6 assists for the winners. Thomas is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Capitol players scored in double figures. Forward Gaston Semiglia (185-91) answered with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists and American power forward Will Artino (211-92, college: Creighton) added 24 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Hebraica. Capitol have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Hebraica dropped to the eighth position with four games lost. Capitol's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Montevideo to the arena Aguada.
