Another exciting game was played in Ciudad de Mexico between third ranked Escaramuzas and 4th placed Quetzales where Escaramuzas (3-2) beat Quetzales (2-3) on the road 63-55. Escaramuzas forced 19 Quetzales turnovers. The former international forward Gladiana Avila (177-94) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals. American center Jordan Wallace (190, college: Rutgers, agency: Gamble Sports Management) contributed with 8 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Izchel Valdez answered with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 12 rebounds and 9 assists and Cuban forward Yulianne Rodriguez (185-82) added 20 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Quetzales. Quetzales' coach let to play eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. The victory was the third consecutive win for Escaramuzas. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Mexcaltecas. Quetzales lost their third game in a row. They keep the fourth position with three games lost. Escaramuzas will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Quetzales will play again at home against Escaramuzas (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
