There was an upset in Rosario where higher ranked Sp.America (5-7) was defeated by fourteenth ranked Independiente (2-12) 77-66 on Sunday. Independiente made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. They also forced 22 Sp.America turnovers. Strangely Sp.America outrebounded Independiente 40-23 including a 32-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Point guard Damian Palacios (178-85) scored 26 points and 4 steals to lead the charge for the winners and Bruno Ingratta (202-85) chipped in 19 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was forward Emilio Stucky (198-94) with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 15 rebounds and naturalized Italian center Omar Canton (205-82) scored 16 points and 7 rebounds. Independiente maintains fourteenth position with 2-12 record, which they share with Riachuelo LR. Sp.America lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth place with seven games lost. Independiente will have a break next round.
