There was no surprise in Buenos Aires where 9th ranked Lanus (4-6) was edged by sixth ranked Racing (6-3) 74-73 on Wednesday. Strangely Lanus outrebounded Racing 47-35 including 18 on the offensive glass. Swingman Julian Morales (195-95) scored 29 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and forward Juan Ignacio Fernandez (195-99, agency: BIG) chipped in 13 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was American forward Justin Everett (206-96, college: Humboldt St.) with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 16 rebounds and Andres Mariani (190-87) scored 17 points and 7 rebounds. Racing moved-up to fifth place, which they share with GELP. Newly promoted Lanus keeps the ninth position with six games lost. Racing will face Ciclista (#11) in Juninense in the next round where they are favorite.
