Important game to mention about took place in La Asuncion. Sixth ranked Centauros (2-2) saved a 1-point derby victory on the road edging bottom-ranked Taurinos (0-4) 74-73 on Wednesday evening. They outrebounded Taurinos 41-27 including a 28-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Taurinos were plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for Dominican guard Kelvin Pena (193-80, college: Southeastern, agency: BMS Sport Agency) who saved his team from a defeat with 28 points and 6 rebounds. The former international Jose Bracho (190-98) contributed with 7 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Guard Enderso Ramos (185-95) replied with 20 points and the former international guard Michael Flores (192-85) added 13 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Taurinos. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Centauros moved-up to fifth place. Taurinos at the other side still closes the standings with four games lost. They share the position with Condores. Centauros will play against higher ranked Gigantes (#3) in Puerto Ordaz in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Taurinos will play on the road against Indios (#6) in Caracas and hope to get finally their first victory.
