Regular Season Round 9: Olimpia - Aguada 92-76

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Montevideo: Olimpia (#1) and Aguada (#6). Olimpia (6-2) crushed visiting Aguada (4-4) by 16 points 92-76. Olimpia forced 19 Aguada turnovers and had a 16-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American guard Skyler Hogan (196-97, college: SEMO) who scored 22 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Lithuanian center Zygimantas Riauka (206-93, college: UW-Parkside) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was naturalized Italian Leandro Morales (186-80, college: Texas A&M, agency: Pro Sports) who recorded 18 points (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and guard Mateo Sarni (185-98) added 10 points and 9 assists respectively. Five Olimpia and four Aguada players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Olimpia maintains first place with 6-2 record, which they share with Urunday. Defending champion Aguada dropped to the seventh position with four games lost. They share it with Defensor and Penarol. Olimpia's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Montevideo to the arena Hebraica.
