Very important is a home loss of third ranked Capitol (5-4) against ninth ranked Defensor (4-4) on Saturday night. Host Capitol was defeated by Defensor in Montevideo 94-80. Defensor players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. It was a good game for American power forward Josh Boone (208-84, college: UConn) who led his team to a victory with 31 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists (on 14-of-18 shooting from the field). American-Puerto Rican forward Christopher Ortiz (203-93, college: Kent St., agency: Network Sports International) contributed with 11 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Four Defensor players scored in double figures. American guard Davaunta Thomas (196-95, college: UAFS) answered with 26 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import center Paul Harrison (204-89, college: NGU) added 13 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Capitol. Defensor moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Aguada and Penarol. Capitol at the other side dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. Defensor's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Montevideo to the arena Penarol.
