Regular Season Round 10: Quetzales - Marineras 82-80

Fifth-ranked Marineras (0-10) gave a tough game to fourth ranked Quetzales (4-6) in Ciudad de Mexico. Quetzales managed to secure only two-point victory 82-80. However their fans expected easier game. Quetzales forced 23 Marineras turnovers. Marineras were plagued by 32 personal fouls down the stretch. Cuban center Clenia Noblet (190-87) notched a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds to lead the effort and Cuban forward Yulianne Rodriguez (185-82) supported her with 10 points and 12 rebounds. Even a double-double of 12 points and 14 rebounds by Alexa Diaz did not help to save the game for Marineras. Argentinian guard Candela Foresto (163-99) added 21 points for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Quetzales moved-up to third place, which they share with Mexcaltecas and Barreteras. Marineras at the other side still closes the standings with ten games lost. Quetzales will play against Barreteras (#3) in Zacatecas in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Marineras will play on the road against the league's leader Aztks in Ciudad de Mexico and hope to get finally their first victory.
