Very predictable result in La Plata where fourth ranked GELP (8-3) smashed 11th ranked Atenas (4-9) 82-62 on Thursday. Pablo Alderete (198-93) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds for the winners and point guard Nicolas Remolina (185-98) chipped in 19 points. The best for the losing side was Genaro Lorio (192-97) with 8 points and 9 assists and power forward Santiago Bruera (206-98, college: FAU) scored 10 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. GELP have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to third place. Atenas lost third consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with nine games lost. GELP will face league's leader Dep Viedma in Rio Negro in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Atenas will play at home against Rivadavia (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
