Sampaio has finally registered their first victory this season after four consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Santo Andre (0-5) 70-55 on Saturday. Forward Jeanne Moraes (176-85) scored 18 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international center Gilmara Justino (183-81) chipped in 19 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was swingman Ariadna Felipe (184-83) with 14 points and 8 rebounds and power forward Glenda Cruz (182-94) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds. Defending champion (1-4) left bottom position moving up to sixth place, which they share with Catanduva. It was Santo Andre's fifth loss in a row. They still close the standings with five games lost.
