An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Ciudad de Mexico. First ranked Lobas faced second-ranked Racers. Host Lobas (10-1) smashed guests from Saltillo (6-5) 87-63. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Racers. Lobas dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Racers' 18. Lobas forced 22 Racers turnovers and outrebounded them 43-25 including a 35-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Racers' players. Maria Faz orchestrated the victory by scoring 14 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Russian forward Julia Gladkova (185-94) contributed with 11 points and 6 assists for the winners. Paloma Flores answered with 14 points and the former international Ana Renteria (-85) added 12 points in the effort for Racers. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Lobas have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain first place with 10-1 record, which they share with Aztks. Newly promoted Racers keep the second position with five games lost. Lobas will again play against league's second-placed Racers in Saltillo in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Racers will have a break next round.
