Regular Season Round 24: Ameghino - Dep Norte 91-73

Everything went according to plan in Villa Maria where seventh ranked Ameghino (8-4) beat 9th ranked Dep Norte (5-7) 91-73 on Wednesday. Ameghino dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Dep Norte's 36. They outrebounded Dep Norte 40-29 including a 35-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Ameghino looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Dep Norte's players. The best player for the winners was power forward Juan Luis Abeiro (200-88) who scored 20 points and 4 assists (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!). Point guard Joaquin Valinotti (185-98) chipped in 20 points and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Four Ameghino players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Lautaro Mare (196-98) who recorded a double-double by scoring 20 points and 15 rebounds and naturalized Italian Vicente Garello (203-97, agency: BIG) added 23 points and 7 rebounds (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field) respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Ameghino moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Villa Mitre. Dep Norte lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with seven games lost. They share it with Ciclista. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
