There was a minor upset in Santiago where one of their biggest challengers Universidad Catolica (2-4) was defeated by sixth ranked Quilicura (2-3) 81-72. Quilicura shot 25 for 40 from the free-throw line, while Universidad Catolica only scored eight points from the stripe. Quilicura forced 19 Universidad Catolica turnovers. 25 personal fouls committed by Universidad Catolica helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for the former international forward Julius Holt (187-85) who led his team to a victory with 21 points and 9 rebounds. The former international forward Jose Campos (189-80) contributed with 22 points for the winners. Four Quilicura players scored in double figures. International center Sebastian Silva (187-96) replied with 19 points and 5 rebounds and Argentinian forward Lucas Diaz (198-92) added 13 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Universidad Catolica. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Quilicura moved-up to fifth place. Universidad Catolica at the other side dropped to the sixth position with four games lost. Quilicura's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Puente Alto at home and it may be quite challenging game. Universidad Catolica will play against Espanol de Talca (#3) and hope to win that game.
