Regular Season Round 7: Talca - Catolica 64-73

Very important is a home loss of third ranked Espanol de Talca (3-4) against sixth ranked Universidad Catolica (3-4) on Wednesday night. Host Espanol de Talca was defeated by Universidad Catolica in a tough game in Talca 64-73. It was an exceptional evening for guard Ramon Gatica (185-96) who led the winners and scored 33 points (!!!). Forward Aitor Pickett (203-99) accounted for 14 points and 16 rebounds for the winning side. The former international forward Gianncarlo Caraboni (-90) came up with 21 points and 6 rebounds and Pablo Barraza (184-94) added 17 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Espanol de Talca in the defeat. Four Espanol de Talca players scored in double figures. Universidad Catolica moved-up to fifth place, which they share with CDE Talca. Espanol de Talca lost third consecutive game. Universidad Catolica will meet league's leader Universidad de Concepcion on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Espanol de Talca will play against the league's second-placed Los Leones (#2) and hope to secure a win.
