An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Jalisco. Third ranked Escaramuzas faced 4th placed Quetzales. Host Escaramuzas (8-7) smashed guests from Ciudad de Mexico (4-11) 89-59. Escaramuzas dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Quetzales' 30. Escaramuzas forced 20 Quetzales turnovers and had a 38-26 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for the former international forward Gladiana Avila (177-94) who led her team to a victory scoring 25 points. American center Jordan Wallace (190, college: Rutgers, agency: Gamble Sports Management) helped adding 8 points and 12 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Cuban forward Yulianne Rodriguez (185-82) with 12 points and 7 rebounds and Cuban center Clenia Noblet (190-87) scored 14 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Escaramuzas. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Mexcaltecas and Racers. Quetzales lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the fourth position with 11 games lost. Escaramuzas will again meet at home Quetzales (#4) in the next round. Quetzales will have a break next round.
