Second Stage Round 4: Diablos - Centauros 78-79

Centauros' fans can celebrate the first win of their team after three consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as it came on the road game in Caracas, where they edged Diablos (0-4) 79-78 on Tuesday. The winners were led by the former international Jose Bracho (190-98) who scored that evening 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and international guard Luis Betancourt (183-2) supported him with 17 points and 7 rebounds. Centauros' coach Derek Baker used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Even a double-double of 23 points and 11 rebounds by the former international forward Tulio Cobos (197-86, college: Northeastern St.) did not help to save the game for Diablos. The former international guard Michael Flores (192-85) added 17 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Centauros (1-3) left bottom position moving up to eighth place. It was Diablos' fourth loss in a row. They still close the standings with four games lost. They share the position with Indios. Centauros will meet at home higher ranked Gladiadores (#7) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Diablos will have a break next round.
