The game between Top Four teams took place in Ciudad de Mexico. 4th placed host Quetzales (4-13) were smashed by first ranked Mieleras (15-2) 85-53. Mieleras dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Quetzales' 24. Mieleras forced 23 Quetzales turnovers and outrebounded them 47-33 including 33 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American guard Jaterra Bonds (170-92, college: Florida) who scored 17 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Her fellow American import forward Kayla Mobley (180-90, college: Clayton St.) chipped in 15 points and 9 rebounds. Four Mieleras players scored in double figures. Cuban center Clenia Noblet (190-87) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds and Natalia Gonzalez added 16 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Mieleras. They maintain first place with 15-2 record. Quetzales lost their seventh game in a row. They keep the fourth position with 13 games lost. Mieleras will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Quetzales will play again against the league's leader Mieleras (#1) and hope to secure a win.
